Grede Announces Restructuring, Promotions to Support Customer Demand

Segmentation of Automotive, Commercial & Industrial units — supported by new leadership structure — emphasizes customer needs, performance, capital projects 

SOUTHFIELD, MI — May 3, 2022 — Grede Holdings LLC, a leading producer of highly engineered ductile & gray cast and machined components, is pleased to announce the segmentation of its Automotive and Commercial & Industrial units, a reorganization that has been accompanied by key promotions.  

This restructuring allows for greater focus on key inputs, performance, lean activity and capital projects. Under a new leadership structure, Grede is emphasizing strategic planning for key customers within the two business units. To support the reorganization, the following leadership changes and promotions have taken effect: 

  • Todd Sternaman has rejoined the Grede family as group vice president – automotive. With more than 40 years’ experience in the casting industry, Todd is a proven, accomplished leader with a history of innovative manufacturing and technical leadership abilities. He previously worked at Grede’s Reedsburg foundry as vice president of operations and later as group vice president of ductile operations. Todd most recently served as vice president of operations at Metaltek International. 
  • Tyler Hill has been promoted to group vice president – commercial & industrial. Over a 16-year career, Tyler has consistently guided Grede’s customers and internal teams to reach their maximum potential. A former environmental health and safety supervisor, Tyler most recently served as plant manager of Grede’s Iron Mountain foundry, leading the facility to win Grede’s top award in 2021 for continuous improvement. 
  • Susan Bear has been promoted to vice president – engineering, quality, and program management. Since 2018, Susan has played an integral role in developing and ensuring that robust processes are available for quality, program management and engineering functions and used by Grede’s centers of operations and corporate teams. Susan also leads strategic development of Grede’s engineering business unit.
