Supplier Reference Guide

Most Grede facilities will expect their vendors to contact carriers for shipment of parts/materials to Grede. A short list of preferred carriers, by Grede location, is available here. If none of the carriers on the list will accept a load, contact the receiving Grede facility for further assistance. The Grede locations that will be contacting carriers themselves will work with you to make sure that there are no conflicts, double tenders, etc.

Failure to use a Grede preferred carrier, without approval in advance, will result in debit of excess freight charges.

If a shipment weighs less that 11,000 pounds but will completely fill a truckload, use a truckload carrier from the list available here.

In order to assist in Grede's outside freight bill payment service, the following information is required:

All inbound collect LTL shipments to Grede must have a "shipper" number listed on the packing slip. "Shipper" number can be the bill of lading number or other number but it must be unique for each shipment. The carriers will be required to transfer that number to their invoice so it must also be provided to them at the time of pick up.

If you know that a shipment will be late or if the carrier is more than 2 hours late for a scheduled pick up, you must notify the receiving Grede facility.
