Grede Named Navistar Diamond Supplier for Second Consecutive Year
Novi, Mich. – August 10, 2010 - Grede Holdings LLC, a leading manufacturer of high quality cast, machined and assembled components for the transportation and industrial markets, today announced it was named a 2009 Navistar Diamond Supplier for exceeding performance expectations last year. Grede is one of only 37 of Navistar’s more than 1,200 suppliers and the only iron foundry to receive this distinction. This is the second straight year that Grede Holdings LLC has received this award.
“As a Diamond Supplier, Grede is among a very select group of Navistar suppliers in terms of supplier/customer collaboration,” said Persio Lisboa, Navistar’s chief procurement officer.
Grede Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Heavin said the award reflects Grede’s efforts to continuously improve the value the company provides its customers, from engineering through delivery. “We’ve worked diligently to streamline our operations, optimize quality and delivery, and meet our customers’ expectations.”
Grede manufactures components for Navistar’s MaxxForce® diesel engines at its Menomonee Falls, Wis., machining operation and its casting facilities in Wauwatosa, Wis., Iron Mountain, Mich., and Biscoe, N.C. It also supplies Navistar with parts manufactured using its proprietary lost foam casting process from its Columbiana, Ala. facility.
