The foundry at New Castle was acquired in 1989 and specializes in production of large, highly cored, ductile iron castings such as carriers and housings. This plant is capable of manufacturing a broad range of castings weighing up to 200 pounds and with passage cross-sections down to .250 inches. Design assistance is a strength at New Castle with the ability to work with customers from "abstract idea" to "detailed print." | |||

New Castle is QS-9000 and ISO 14001 certified and has been a two-time recipient of the Grede Eagle Award for Innovation. This location also has completed over one million hours without a lost time accident and was recognized for noteworthy safety performance with the National Safety Council Award for Merit. Commitment to Education and the Community The New Castle community honored this facility with the Area Vocational School Employer of the Year Award. This plant offers a Management Trainee Program designed to provide a qualified source of managers and professionals fully prepared to assume various positions at Grede. Another program offered by New Castle is the High School Cooperative Student Program aimed to help students make a successful transition from school to the workplace.
