Grede Foundries acquired the Greenwood plant in 1984. The highly mechanized molding lines at Greenwood Foundry produce a number of different parts in quantities up to thousands per day. All of these castings offer great machinability, superior surface finish, and consistent performance properties. Greenwood engineers and operators work closely with customers in the design of new products. The on-site pattern shop can respond to last minute changes. | ||||

Commitment to Safety, Quality Control, and the Environment Recognized by National Safety Council for operating 1,000,000 work hours without a lost time accident, Greenwood has been safety certified since 1995 and has been awarded the President's Trophy for eight consecutive years. In 2002, Greenwood received an Excellence Achievement Award from the National Safety Council for completing 2001 with an incident rate for lost time injuries better than 95 percent of companies in similar industries nation wide. Greenwood was also recongnized by the South Carolina Department of Labor for being in the top 25 percent of all companies in South Carolina in overall OSHA incident rates. The facility completed one full year without a recordable incident in January of 2003 and has worked over 2.5 million hours without a lost time injury. Greenwood has been QS-9000 certified since 1996 and also is ISO-14001 certified. Commitment to Education and the Community Greenwood provides free general educational development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to employees and their families. They are an active leader in their community through volunteerism and charitable contributions. | |||||
