Better Safety Means Better Business

The "safety culture" established at Grede Foundries stems from the Company philosophy that if we take care of people, the production cost, production rate, quality, and safety will take care of themselves. The priority placed on safety can be summed up with this phrase "no job is so important and no service so urgent that we cannot take time to perform our work safely."

Safety Is a Human Value

Safety Policy

Grede Foundries is committed to providing a safe and healthful working environment. It is the responsibility of each individual to observe all safety regulations and to practice good safety at all times.

No job is so important that we cannot take the time to perform our job safely at all times. No operation shall be carried out until safety is assured.

OSHA GraphSince 1991, Grede's safety record has been continually improving. With the use of a specially-designed safety manual, specific training, attitude seminars, safety audits, and certifications, Grede has reduced the incidence of OSHA recordable cases by nearly 90% from 23.2 cases to 1.3 cases per 100 employees per year. The national average for iron and steel foundries is 13.6.

Although the Company's record is already far better than the industry average, Grede believes safety is a managed function and the goal is to manage the accidents out of our business. At Grede, better safety means better business!
